Jan De Nul Group secured its second contract with ACP

On 24 October 2006, the Panama Canal Authority has awarded a one-year contract to Jan De Nul for the excavation of blasted medium hard to very hard rock alongside the Gaillard Cut channel banks.
Jan De Nul shall mobilize the backhoe dredger ‘Il Principe’ by the beginning of 2007 for a 12 month period, with an option for 2 x 12 months extra.
The backhoe dredger will reinforce ACP's dredging capacity for its previously approved and planned works in the Gaillard widening project.
The management of Jan De Nul is very pleased with the trust the Panama Canal Authority puts in the company.
This is the second contract that Jan De Nul faces after having completed the first phase of the deepening of the Atlantic Access Channel in 2004 - 2005, which was executed well under budget and much faster than originally planned.
